Casablancas Talks New Strokes, Confirms Lollapalooza Set

The forthcoming album from New York's the Strokes appears to be slated for a fall release, Frontman Julian Casablancas gave an update on the album to the Chicago Tribune, stating, "I think it'll be out in September.”

The band, who haven't released an album since 2006's First Impressions of Earth, took a more collaborative approach to their forth studio album.

"I've written a lot of melodies for it, but the other guys have also contributed a lot more: melodies, choruses, parts. It’s way more collaborative. So it’ll have a different feel than our other albums.” added Casablancas.

The singer also confirmed that the band was set to perform at this year's Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.

The event, which has yet to announce its official lineup, will take place at Chicago's Grant Park from August 6-8th.
